The University of Florida Institute on Aging announced the competitive selection of the abstract “Cysteine-Cystine Redox Balance Is Associated With Functional Decline in Older Adults” for inclusion at the 2026 Gerontological Society of America Annual Scientific Meeting.
The work uses data from the Muscle Iron Flow Study to examine the relationship between redox balance and longitudinal change in physical function. It will be presented in a 15-minute oral presentation followed by questions and discussion.
The GSA Annual Scientific Meeting will take place in National Harbor, Maryland, from November 4 to 7, 2026. Participation is also supported by an Institute on Aging Trainee Travel Grant and the Gerontological Society of America Health Sciences Section Travel Stipend.
